In a recent Crypto Daily News podcast, Truebit founder Jason Teutsch shared his views on the critical need for verification in digital systems, particularly in the context of international trade and tariffs.
Teutsch highlighted that while everyday digital tasks rely on trust, the billions of trade dollars at stake in tariff systems demand provably correct data processing. With the United States implementing tariffs on many countries, verifying product origins and preventing circumvention of higher rates becomes a major challenge.
He emphasized that “fairness in trade” hinges on trustworthy systems, and Truebit’s verification technology offers the missing piece by providing transparency. This means each origin determination would come with a justified, verifiable record, showing the evidence and decision-making process.
He also touched on the integration of AI into these systems, noting that without verification, AI-powered solutions to eliminate fraud could simply become another “black box.” Truebit’s approach allows for independent checking of results, building the foundation of trust necessary for international trade as tariffs continue to shift and change.
