At Truebit, we’re building the next generation verification services to make Web3 development accessible, reliable, and possible for real world applications.
Truebit pioneered blockchain technology that enables “Layer 2” optimistic roll-ups, a multi-billion dollar infrastructure industry. Founder Jason Teutsch’s CCS 2015 paper introduced the “Verifier’s Dilemma,” a characteristic limitation for blockchain consensus, and became the first peer-reviewed paper about Ethereum.
As a means to address the Verifier’s Dilemma, Teutsch introduced Ethereum’s first scaling solution and ported it into Truebit’s well-known whitepaper coauthored with Solidity creator Christian Reitwießner. Today, Truebit Verify extends beyond attestations for smart contracts and provides verification infrastructure for the emerging real-world asset economy.
Auditable data orchestration
Proof of existence and integrity
Meritocracy trumps personal connections
Real-time audits simplify reporting and eliminate disasters
Assets controlled by central institutions with limited transparency
Data trapped in organizational boundaries with restricted access
Supply chains requiring multiple trusted intermediaries
Real world assets with immutable proof of authenticity, ownership and value
Data with verifiability and tamper-evident processing
End-to-end verified data across organizational boundaries
Self-verifying assets that automatically prove their integrity
Individual ownership of data with built-in verification
Frictionless global value exchange without intermediaries
We’re driven by a common purpose: to create a transparent solution to heighten the integrity of data, systems and organizations.
Our team of distributed experts educate, inspire and connect our community with diverse perspectives to create innovative, real-world applications.

Truebit Verify securely connects Web3 apps with the rest of the world. Our verified computing platform mitigates asset and counterparty risk while increasing users’ confidence in your application. Truebit Verify generates attestations for off-ledger code execution and API calls for the vast majority of application logic that runs outside of smart contracts. It allows deployed systems with code in familiar languages like JavaScript and Python to flip attestation on and off like a light switch easily and quickly activate or deactivate attestation.

Web3 applications derive value from the proposition that code executed on others’ machines is as trustworthy as code executed on one’s own. Unlike traditional web applications which operate on centralized servers, Web3 applications can be more transparent, resistant to censorship, and more secure. Web3 applications often use blockchain platforms to handle transactions and cryptography to ensure integrity and security.
Multiple Truebit Nodes execute each task in parallel. If Nodes don’t agree on task output, the Truebit Verification Game forces nodes to prove their work at the machine-code level. Financial incentives and penalties gamify the process in a way that incentives correct behavior. For more details, read our ground-breaking whitepaper.
Our platform is designed for developers building Web3 and RWA applications that require (time-stamped) attestations for code execution and API calls. The platform supports multiple programming languages including JavaScript, Python, Rust, and C++ making it accessible to a broad range of development teams.
Getting started with Truebit is easy and fast. Visit our Getting Started Guide for step-by-step instructions on creating your first verified task. Our documentation walks you through setting up your development environment, writing tasks in your preferred language, and deploying them to our network.
Truebit on Ethereum is still available, however we encourage all users to migrate to Truebit Verify. Relevant documentation can be found here.
TRU tokens are available for purchase and retirement through Truebit OS, See here for access. Truebit does not support, promote, or endorse any exchanges. We are aware that certain third-party exchanges are choosing to support TRU tokens on their own. We take no position on any secondary sales outside of our control.
Prior to providing code execution and API services on Truebit Verify, public Nodes must purchase and stake TRU tokens on Ethereum. TRU tokens can already be purchased and retired in Truebit OS or traded on secondary markets.
There is no charge to issue tasks in Truebit Verify’s open beta. Eventually, Nodes will collect fees for performing tasks.
